Activity 3: Belle of the Ball

Today i did Activity 3 day 3 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this we were too choose a book that we like and write a short review of it. In the review we were to  tell you what the book is about and what we like about it and also add a photo of the book. I enjoyed doing this activity because i could tell you about my favorite. The reason this is my favorite book is because i like how the story goes and also a fact about me is that i enjoy reading graphic novels/comics because they are all so interesting to me.

Activity 2: The Right to an Education

Today l did activity 2 day 3 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this we were too write a short story. The story could be about anything that we wished to write about but to receive full points our story had to be at least 10 sentences long. I decided to write about a  place i love to go to which is in New Zealand Auckland Rainbows End. Because it is my favourite place and also because l love going on roller coasters. My story is really long but i just had to add a lot of detail. I enjoyed doing this because i could age images that i took when we went to Rainbows End and also because i could talk about my experience and the fun i had when i went to Rainbows End.

Activity 1: The Right to Vote

Today I did Activity 1 day 3 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this i was too imagine that the government decided to create a new $10 note and replace Kate with a picture of a different woman. Then i was to tell you’s who you think the government should put on the new $10 note and provide you with a picture of this amazing woman and a short explanation of why you have selected her as Kate Sheppard’s replacement. I enjoyed getting to pick a woman who i think should go as a replacement of Kate Sheppard on the 10$ note which i

Activity 3: I Have a Dream

Today l did Activity 3 day 2 which is all about how in America there would laws against white and black people. For this activity we were to consider the problem that black men and women faced in America at this time and describe the problem that was happening. What did Rosa Parks do about the problem? How did other people react? I have talked about Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks and the problem of black and white people. I really enjoyed learning about this problem that today we don’t have because they changed all of that by simple act of kindness.

Week 2 | Day 1 | Activity 2

Working Out Since Jessa was born in 1985 and received her award in 2010, we first work out how many we have to add to 1985 to get to 2010, so 1985 + 5 = 1990. After we add 1990 + 10 = 2000. Finally 2000+ 10 = 2010, which means Jessa was 25 years when she got her award.

Now we have to solve the months. Since she was born on April and got her award on July we work how many we get from April to July. So May, June and July, which is 3. This means Jessa was 3 months when she got her award.

Finally we figure out the days. So Jessa was born on the 7th and received her award on the 9th. So we add up until we get from 7 to 9. 7 + 2 = 9, which means Jessa got her award when she was 2 days. Then the answer i got was 25 years, 3 months and 2 days since Jessa got her award.

Today I did for day 1 activity 2 of week 2 for the SLJ. For this we had to use our maths to solve a question. For this activity we were to calculate how old in years, months and days Dr Jessa Rogers was when she won the NAIDOC Youth of the Year award. Dr. When l working this out my answer for this question was 25 years, 3 months and 2 days since Jessa got her award. This was fun to do because i could work on my maths to slove this question.

Activity 2: School Strike for Climate

Today l did Activity 2 for day 2 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity we were to explore the
School Strike for Climate Australia website then on our blog list three facts that we have learned from the website
and also add a photograph of something we are doing to save the planet. I added a photo of myself picking up
rubbish because i think that is a way l can help our environment. I really enjoyed doing this activity because i
could learn more about what is happening around the planet, climate change and the 16 year old girl who is from
Sweden called Greta Thunberg. She believed that governments and powerful people weren't taking climate change
seriously as they should have been. So in 2018 she began protesting outside the Swedish government buildings
every Friday instead of going to school.I think this a great idea that she is worried and is focused on climate change.

Activity 1: A Long Walk to Freedom

Today l did activity 1 day 2 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this we were to imagine that we were Mr Mandela and we were living at the Robben Island Prison and that we have been given a journal and each night he writes in it. I have wrote mine and think i have done a great job of saying how he feels and what he does each day and trying to add a lot of detail. I enjoyed doing this because i could imagine that l was Mr Mandela himself and writing in a journey about him and being him. This activity was kinda hard because i didn't really know that much about so l had to go and search and learn about him first before i wrote this.
