This week we created posters about different planets. First we use the template and picked a planet out of the solar system to learn about. Then first we added in the first box a fact about the planet and how far it is from the sun fun fact about the sun is it is a star. Next l write if mars has liquor water in it and then l did if it had the elements for life and if it has oxygen in it's atmosphere if it is hot or cold and if we has to much gravity, enough and too much. Last box was can we as human live on mars. l enjoyed learning about this planet because l liked finding out knew things about the planet.

Star dome
Last Night the year 8 students went to the Star dome to go and see the Planets, Different models, Yuri Gagarin and more. We went as a class to set in the seats at the star dome and learn more about the topic of space. Tobias from star dome talked to us while we were looking up into the sky he told us about Jupiter one fact that l found interesting that he told us was that it has 67 moons around it and there are four main ones that are the close to Jupiter. Another planet that he told us about was Saturn did you know that Saturn rings are made up of ice rocks and a interesting fact that l found that was interesting was it has 62 moons that are around it. After we finished with looking up at the sky we saw models of Yuri Gagarin landing it was made up of Lego most of the modes we made up of Lego it was really interesting to see that different models that were made and writing that talked about the different space crafts. I really looking and learning about the starts and the meaning and the different planet.

Day and Night
This week in inquiry we have been learning about the solar system l was working with Elaario on this DLO and we created a screen castify to tell many people about Day and Night. Did you know that it takes 24 hours to complete an rotation. In this DLO you can see some drawing that we have done to explain our learning. We have the sun, Day and Night earth, Northern hemisphere and Southern hemisphere. I really liked how we worked together to make this screen castify.

Te Tiriti o Waitangi
This week I created a DLO about Waitangi. I worked with Angela, Sandra and Jayden. We needed to create three summaries about each part of the story. The story was about the Treaty of Waitangi. Maori Chiefs wanted a treaty with the British because pakeha settlers were taking their land and not following any laws. On 6th February 1840 the treaty between Maori and pakeha was signed at Waitangi. When the treaty was signed at Waitangi it meant that The Maori Chiefs agreed to give the Queen of England sovereignty over New Zealand. After the Treaty was signed by the Maori the British people encouraged the Maori to sell their land because more and more Pakeha were coming to New Zealand. Many of them wanted land so there was often conflict about the sales. We also defined important words and wrote about the differences between the Maori's point of view and the Pakeha's.

Role Models/Hero
As an excitement for inquiry we are learning about leadership. Leadership in our school is a very strong topic, because we are great at working towards our leadership skills. For this activity we were to find the definitions for a role model and a hero. Each slide included a photo of a role model/hero. If you were wondering as you went pass you could see that the role model slide had a photo of all of your school leaders for this year. We contributed together as we listed a lot of reasons for each of these definitions.

What is a leader
As a fresh start for this week we learnt about a new topic called leaders. This interesting DLO included information about what a leader is and what a leader can achieve in school/outside of school. To make it look interesting we added images for each slide. Together as a group we defined the word leader. A leader is someone who steps up, by taking risks in everything they do.

Armistice Day
This week l created a DLO of images about Armistice Day. Armistice Day is a day where families can come and see there sons , Great Grandfather and many more men that went into World War 1. Anniversary of the Armistice day is the 11 November 1918 this is the Remembrance of the men that gave there lives and Armistice Day is a time dedicated to the ones who went into World War 1. Armistice Day was for service members who have died without their remains and how World War ended. These images show how happy people were and how they celebrated the end of the war. It is Commemorated every year on 11 November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany. l enjoyed making this DLO because l could tell people what Armistice Day is and how it is celebrated every year on the 11th November 1918.

World War 1
This week for Inquiry l worked with chavda we created a google drawing showing what we learnt about World War 1. The first thing we did was we created a table so we could split our ideas into Facts and Check this meant we had to write down any facts we learnt about World War 1 and we had to check them to see if they were correct or not. The next thing we did was we wrote down all of our facts l wrote down 7 facts one of the facts that l learnt was that 25 million soldiers lost they lives. l checked my facts to see if they were correct and put a tick next to it and wrote why the fact was right. Why we did this was to learn more about the soldiers who died. How l did this was to check my facts and check if they made sentence or not.

Reflex Experiment
This week for Inquiry we were doing a reflex experiment with a rule. l was working with Joseph to do this reflex experiment. We were using a rule to help us do this so first we had to put the hand that we write with on a table and your partner had to sit on the other side of you so the other person could catch it. Then we had to see how much centimetres we cached it up to. This graph shows how much l got and how much my group got and the amount of centimetres that we got. The names for the reflex experiment were Visual,Auditory and Tactile those were the words that we used to help us.

This week for inquiry we had to get into a group of six. Then from that group, choose a pair to work with and my pair was Avalon. Each pair from the group had to make a copy of a google slide and pick 2 of the emergency services - Police, Fire, Ambulance, Search and Rescue, Surf Lifesavers and Armed Service. My buddy and I did Ambulance and Armed Service. On the google slides it had a bunch of a little things we had to do like find facts, sites, an image questions and even make up our own questions.
