Activity 2: School Strike for Climate

Today l did Activity 2 for day 2 for the Summer Learning Journey. For this activity we were to explore the
School Strike for Climate Australia website then on our blog list three facts that we have learned from the website
and also add a photograph of something we are doing to save the planet. I added a photo of myself picking up
rubbish because i think that is a way l can help our environment. I really enjoyed doing this activity because i
could learn more about what is happening around the planet, climate change and the 16 year old girl who is from
Sweden called Greta Thunberg. She believed that governments and powerful people weren't taking climate change
seriously as they should have been. So in 2018 she began protesting outside the Swedish government buildings
every Friday instead of going to school.I think this a great idea that she is worried and is focused on climate change.

  1. Hi Avalon, this is Mrs Collins again from Manaiakalani and I'll be commenting on blogs over term break. Well done on posting and participating in the SLJ this year. I really like the information you shared from the narrative. How you can support others through activation..? Keep blogging, and commenting on others, to increase your chance of winning one of the awesome prizes and to keep up your learning over the school break!

  3. Hi Avalon!
It's great to see that you are doing the SLJ this year. I loved your blogpost about Climate change. I liked the 3 things you would do to change the climate. I think that you should work on just posting the activities on the day, and not go too far ahead.
    Keep the great work!
    Blog you later!

  4. Greetings Avalon!,
Great work on participating in the Summer Learning Journey activities. Your DLO caught my attention about climate change. You have three very interesting facts and ways you could help with the climate change. One of your most interesting facts is how there are more than 15,000 people taking part in the next climate change strike.

    Awesome Work!

  5. Hi Avalon,
I liked how you said that we could help stop climate change by picking rubbish up and throwing our rubbish into the correct bin. I also liked how you said that it's a great idea for people to take climate change more seriously. Would you go on strike for climate change?
