9x time tables DLO



This week for maths we created a DLO showing our understanding of solving our 9x time table using 10 time table. On my DLO l added a strategy and a example to show it different kinds of ways and l even added it step by step so people would know how to do it. l explained how to do this so people could read it and try and do this strategy them self. For this l learnt how to use my 10 time tables to do my 9x time table.


Months/Masina


 
This week was Samoan language week.Me and my group created a screencastify on how to say the months of the year in samoan.I was working with Kaitlin,Avalon,Hinemoa and Sulia.The months were hard for them because of the different letter that was silent.I think that it is great getting to learn more about my cultural.

Kiwi sport

This week for kiwi sport we were playing a full on game. First we started off with butting on our rips before we start the game. We were going over the things we learnt last week and the rules of the game. Then he put us into teams blue and green. For this we had to pass around boys and girls so we could get a score and a team could win. We had to run fast and try and not make someone take off your rip because then it would been that the other team gets the ball and the team trying for the ball had to get the other team out. Then we got into little teams so we could practise our passing side to side with other people.

Kiwi Can

This week for Kiwi can our topic was doing the right thing when no one is looking and our theme was integrity. The first game we played was called fruit combo. Fruit comb is a game that uses fruit for instructions instead if using words that you would use in another game. For the instructions Apple was to move forward and Orange was to turn around so you face the other person that was behind you and Banana was to move back. After that game we were talking about people in our life who have shone integrity and doing the right thing when know one is looking. Some of us said teacher,mum,dad and grandparents. Then we did a knowledge game for this we answered some questions and to answer we had to say bang. l really enjoyed Kiwi can this week and l learnt how to do the right thing when know one is looking. 

Mine Explosion 1879 kaitangata,


This week for Inquiry we were picking a 1879 task to do. We picked Mine Explosion Kaitangata this is a story about how the ventilation system wasn't working that day so it exploded that day lots of men died. We chose this because it was sad and fun to learn about at the same time. l worked with Joseph,Nevaeh and Magenta. The first sidle is what caused the explosion l did this sidle and l wrote it down in my own words so people will understand what caused it. The next sidle was on where was it was taken Magenta did this and she wrote down the place. The next sidle was what does fire damp mean Joseph did this and he wrote down what it meant. Then Nevaeh did why did the mining explode the last sidle was how did it happen we all did this in one.

Raurimu spiral and Engineering feat


This week for reading we were doing some research on what a Raurimu spiral is and a Engineering Feat is. We were making a google drawing and we had to put the information on to it and add some photos or a video l added photos to show what they are. From this l find out that a Engineering Feat is someone who builds something big and takes time with it.

6 Hats: Ballad Poems


This week for poetry we were using the 6 hats to help us with a video which was about a story about a ladies called Charlotte Anne who wore boots and trousers. l was working with Magenta,Nevaeh and Joseph. We worked together to get this done so on the white hat we had to type all the things about who wrote the story who were the characters and what happened in the story. On the next sidle we were writing some vocabulary words to help us. For the red hat we typed some comments on her wearing trousers and gave our own ideas. The yellow hat says what are our actions to her wearing trousers for this l said it is normal because some other girls out they wear trousers too. The black hat says what are our opinions about life in Charlotte Ann's time after listening to the ballad my opinion would be that it would have to be very different from now to back in 1870. The green hat is when we had to list the benefits of Charlotte Ann's lifestyle and what other jobs could she had done in 1870. For this one l think she could have chosen to be a teacher  or a nurse because those are some jobs that ladies do but it was up to her to pick what she wanted to do.

Reflex Experiment

This week for Inquiry we were doing a reflex experiment with a rule. l was working with Joseph to do this reflex experiment. We were using a rule to help us do this so first we had to put the hand that we write with on a table and your partner had to sit on the other side of you so the other person could catch it. Then we had to see how much centimetres we cached it up to. This graph shows how much l got and how much my group got and the amount of centimetres that we got. The names for the reflex experiment were Visual,Auditory and Tactile those were the words that we used to help us.

Making Connections



This week I was Making connection using a book called The mystery of the kalonoro.This story is about 2 kids named Carla,Rob and there dad are in Madagascan jungle. When they tools go missing they set a trap out to see what a kalonoro looks like and to see if they are real. At the end they find one and find there tools put they are scared.

Samoan Language Week - O le Vaiaso Gagana Samoa

This week for  O le Vaiaso Gagana Samoa half of  LS1 and LS2 we were learning about Samoan Language Week. We were learning about the culture,food and dances they do. We were making google drawings to show our learning. We picked one to talk about we picked the dancing to talk about l was working with Angela,Sulia,Hinemoa and Kaitlyn we worked as a group to get this work done. l learnt some new words and how to say Samoan Language Week in Samoan l really enjoyed this.

Leap of faith

Leap of faith
I woke up wanting to soar across that lake of rhythm. I was afraid and my heart was
pounding hard. A strong wind rushed past, butterflies looped over my head and
beetles scuttled alongside bouncing grasshoppers. I was standing with one leg high
on that brown rotten branch. I spread my wings, held my breath and leapt into the air.
I was so excited to feel that fresh air as I glided high in the breeze.


My soft furry wings gilding throw the warm air and the sun shining high. As l was flying l opened my wide eyes to see food moving.
I was eager for delicious food my stomach was empty.  As a moved motionlessly to
see a worm and insects gliding through the grass. l wanted something to eat. l went
searching and searching for food and l found grasshoppers leaping around through
the green growing wild grass.

I was getting ready to jump and grab one for my lunch, but as l took one foot forward
they went faster and faster. l finally grabbed one and it tasted scrumptious.
I rested and heard birds tweeting away and trees moving side to side.
This week we were writing a narrative about leap of faith. We were using powerful words to make our sentences powerful. l tried to use more words and make my sentence powerful and try and make the reader get a picture in their head. l wrote about a owl flying in the air and breeze and looking for food around. This really helps me how to write a narrative and add powerful words.

Tech


This week was our Last Session for Pewter Casting. These Photos shows who my teacher for this project was and how it turned out. l really like how it turned out and l made mickey mouse. We took a photo with our  Pewter Casting teacher. l really enjoyed this because we got to do it our self. l made a little sidle show to show what mine turned out like and a photo of us.

Body parts of a boar


Today for reading l was working on body parts of a boar. l find facts on what a boar is and labelled where that body parts were. l lined the words up with a pitcher that l add on and pointed it to the pitcher. l added what the adults heights are and some more interesting facts about a boar. This was really fun to do and learn more about boars.

Read theory

Today l checked my ready theory results. l did great but l kept going from four to three and l would keep on getting different answers. l think l could have done better to change my results, by re-reading the text to find the answer.

This week for reading we made facts about a boar if you don't know what a boar is then read my information and you will find out how big it is and other cool facts. l really enjoyed learning about what a boar is and how big they are. l learned different kinds of names for a boar. l added a pitcher of a boar so you guys could see what they look like.

Tech Reflections




This week l finished my pewter casting. We had to get everything done so next week we could all finish and do our box if we wanted. l was happy how my one turned out and how shinny it is. l really enjoyed learning how to make this and l would like to make one again if l could. This time l would do something differently and make it for some different.

Summer and Winter poem

The sun shines high as l dragged myself out of my bed.
l yawned and grumbled not wanting to wake up as l was gloom.
l heard the trees swish and birds tweet
It was the first day of school and l was slow.


Colors Shine on my plate of eggs as the trees were dancing and swaying side to side
I dragged my bag out the door to catch the bus my first steps into school
l felt the cold winter breeze as the stream of wind came by the cold shivering the kids were
jubilant and laughter.

This week for poetry l have write a poem for walking up for school in the morning on a winter and summer day. First we read a poem for walking up for school in the morning when it rains and when it is sunny. Next we listed the words that we thought that meant sad that would form the poem and then we did the same but for good Juxtaposition means opsite things that make an effect.

Comparing NZ Flags


This week for reading I am learning about Key into Evaluation.I had two activity one was the story and the other was a DLO. The one i have finish was a DLO. For this we were making a DLO showing What is the same and what is the difference we had to tell the difference between the two flags.

Word Clines


This week for poetry we were making a word cline. We picked a word and l picked sad we were writing down the words that we thought that went together with them. l wrote down some words that l thought of this was fun to do l really enjoyed this because it helps me with my words.

Body parts

This week for Inquiry we were translating words from English and Maori. We were making a google drawing on what eye,mouth,face,legs,feet,fingers,arms. Mean in Maori we had fun learning all about new Maori words and we were drawing our own self and lined them up with the parts of the body.

Body systems



This week for inquiry we were playing a Body systems. Game it was fun and we had to put the bones on the body and try and get the lowest score. l had fun playing this and learning about the Body systems and body parts and bones.

Lung Capacity in LS2

To compare the Lung Capacity of students in LS2. We used one breath to blow up a balloon. Then we measured the circumference of the balloon in the cm   could graph the results to compare

Unfinished Drink

This week we were making a google drawing on how la tour mollet d'Auvergne. Never came back for his drink me and chavda worked on this we put. The poem on and some photo of maps and of him and of the beer that he never came back to drink l wrote some things about him like where he went to school and his parents and some other things we wrote a little something about what happened. l really enjoyed doing this and learning that he never came back.

Story Board - Tane Mauat


This Week for Inquiry I learnt a story.First Mr Anderson Read us a Story about Tane Mauat,Gods and Hineahuone.The second Activity was we used different symbols to retell the story.The Third Activity we did was we went on a site called StoryBoard What we did was we first picked a part  of the story and  created the story by using the site for example I used the charters for the Gods.For these activity I worked with Avalon.

Memorial

This week for reading we were learning about Memorial. We started of with reading the book this book was about a boy who was the narrator me and Angela worked together on this task.
