Evaluation of my Animated Story

The context of in the Neighbourhood I will design and produce an animated story for children ages to 16-18 to be used to tell and help more people to respect the tamki area.

My Animated Story is currtenly under construction. Could you pleas help me ,by giving me feedback on conceptual design of my Animated Story.

Adding Decimals

This week For maths we were making a DLO about How to Add Decimals. What you need to do first is write you equation. My equation will be 3.1 + 6.3. The aim is to make a whole number. Add something to one of you numbers to make a whole number. For this equation I will add 2 to the 3.1 and that will make 3.0.Then I need to take away .2 form the 6.3 because we took the .2 and gave it to 3.1. Then add 3.0 and 6.3 and your answer should be 9.40. For our book we needed to go on the class site and go on the maths to find out what the question were. Then we needed to answer the questions. This was easy because I understand how the questions and strategy worked.

Read Theory

Today l checked my Ready Theory results. I did't do well and l kept going from Two and three because l would keep on getting different answers. l think l could have done better to change my results, by re-reading the text to find the answer and get the questions right. 

City Fitness - Gym

Today l created a DLO showing City Fitness Gym. First l picked a Gym which was City Fitness. Then a added in How much you would have to pay to get in the Gym. l put in where it was Located the website open hours and what kind of classes they had and some images of the place and the map. l think will go Gym when l am older.

Best day ever

Today for reading l wrote a story about the best day ever. l talked about how l went to rainbows end with my family and how l felt when l went on a roller coaster. We were creating this because we read a book about how a boy had the worst day of his life. We picked what we were going to talk about our best day ever or our worst day ever. l decide to talk about the best day ever. l think this was the best day ever because we all enjoyed it at Rainbows end.

Petrol and Milk Compared to Sprite

This week we had a maths problem to solve Mrs. Anderson gave us this problem to solve because when she was in Chicago she found this and told us to do it. The first thing we did was pick a car l was working with Angela and Joel and we picked a Range Rover for this we had to see which was cheaper to fill a Range Rover with milk, sprite or petrol? Why? How do you know? What type of maths did you use to solve this? and Think of the price, size, and liters. Joel was working on the Milk the first thing she did was try and find out how much it would be per liter and see how many capacities there would be. After that l  was working on the Sprite the first thing l did was try and find out how much it would be per liter and see how many capacities there would be and Angela did the same put with the Fuel which was the Petrol. The last thing we did was share it with the class and see if we were right or wrong our teacher Mrs. Anderson said we did a great job with this problem and we had a great google drawing. We added in the question and some images of sprite, milk, and Fuel.

Kiwi Can

This week for Kiwi Can we were learning about Resilience this means to work as a team and solve our problem. l tried hard to work as a team with my group and we all worked hard to solve our problems our self. First warm up game we did was Knot we got into our groups and we had to use our hands with our group and make a circle we used our hands to make a knot by holding hands we then started to see who would win the challenge put everyone gave up we all felt bad put we tried to work as a team. The next game we played was Catching Monkeys what we needed to hit the people in the middle with a ball. The ball had to hit them knees and legs down the winner of the game was Freeman. 

Sky Tower Trip

This week we had a Trip to the Sky tower. We were all excited to go to the Sky Tower because some of us haven't been before. Our tourist showed us a video that talked about some facts about the Sky Tower one of the facts l learnt was that it took 2 years and 9 months to build the Sky tower. We walked into the elevator and we went up the elevator was going fast and we could see threw the windows when we were going up the elevator. l was scared put we made it and it was so much fun when we got up the top of the Sky tower l was looking down and it was so high up in the photos you can see that we are standing on the glass it was high. We tired to find the names of the different kinds of mountains in New Zealand and Write them down on a paper we all took photos and walked around. This was my first time going up the Sky Tower and it was great l had so much fun. This was a great opportunity because l haven't been up the Sky Tower before. l would like to give a big Thank you to Douglas Bates for your Donating the money so we could go to the Sky Tower. We are all Thank Full that we got this opportunity to go on a School Trip to the Sky Tower LS1,LS2 and Room 5 Thank you for giving us this opportunity to see a structure and a Donation so we could go up the Sky Tower and see what it is like. Another big Thank you to Mr Dobson,Mr Wong and Miss Linda for coming on the Trip to look after us.

Scale Drawing

This week we had maths week we were learning how to do an Enlargement. This was called Scale drawing it was my first time doing it and l enjoyed making this because l could learn more about Measurement.  l started with picking out my image which was going to be Micky Mouse then l drew

on my 1cm square grid and the 2cm square grid on the A3 paper. The Scale Factor was the number that multiplied by 2. l thought my drawing came out great because l took my time on it and tried to take my time on it we created our tag to show who made the Scale drawing. Next time l think l could make the eyes a little bit better than before. What l found hard to do was keep the drawing in the right boxes and look at the image to see how it looks like in the boxes. The best part about my drawing was the mouth l liked how the mouth came out. 

Tech Reflection

Today for Tech we were staring on our Animated Story's. We have started to see what kind of results we had then we had to put that in a google doc and start our Animation l was happy because l could start my animation l went on a site called Scratch. This was the fun because we could start our animation l looked at my results and went back on scratch to make my animation. 

Read Theory

This week l was doing Read Theory l was reading a book called Ukulele. l had to read it the book then answer the questions. This was easy because if you read the book you can get all the answers right. l enjoyed reading this book because it told me a lot about Ukuleles.

Wheel Words

Today for Reading we were playing a word game called Wheel Words. For this word game l had to use the middle letter and make a word with it or the letter would have to be in the word some where. l enjoyed playing this because it helped me find out some new words. 

Care Awards

This week l finished two of my care awards. l did my confidences the first two l picked was l had to choose a singer who has been throw a lot. l picked Stan Walker because he has been going throw a lot with his cancer. l added in some of his songs and facts and information about him. l then worked on my next one which was what a PHN does l talked about what a Public Health Nurse does and how they can help us. l tried to talk a lot about what happened to Stan Walker and what a Public Health Nurse does. 

Kiwi Can

This week for Kiwi Can we were looking at Problem Solving. We first started of with talking about some ways on how we can solve a problem and what is Problem Solving. Problem Solving is Working together collaborating with others and giving advice. l liked learning about Problem Solving because it shows me how l can work as a team and share ideas with others. l learnt that working as a team and Collaborating and giving answers really help because if people are making a disuses we can work throw it and help. We played hand soccer for this game we go into groups and number ourselves one to ten then we had to run up and try to hit the ball into the goal.

PechaFlikr

This week for writing we have been focusing on linking ideas to paragraphs. This was called a Pecha Flickr,  l was trying to use pictures make a story and link it onto the next paragraph. l learned how to link ideas between paragraph's and to structure odder a narrative. l tried to paint a picture with words to show what was happening. This was a fun thing to learn about because l got to link my ideas together and got to Collaboratively work with my partner Nickaela. l made a recording to tell the story and share with others how to link ideas between paragraphs.

Tech

Today for Tech we were doing a survey on Story Ideas,Sprite ideas and Backdrops.We have started planning our animation's for our survey we added in all the DLO's that we did and they had to pick one. The Sprites were the people that l picked and the Story Ideas were what the Sprites were going to talk about and the last one was our Backdrops this was the backgrounds we picked to use. My  animation was about the Tamaki area and how we can help the Tamaki areas.

Certificates

This week I got a Certificate for being confident in learning. Mrs Anderson told me I got this because she really liked how I was responsible and confident for doing my maths really good. I got my certificate with Angela. I think I deserve this because I have been working hard to share my learning with my teachers and kids. A way to be confident is to be happy in what you do.

New Whare Hauroa opening

This week we had an opening for our New Whare Hauroa. We were Lucky enough to meet Sir Peter Thompson head of the Barfoot and Thompson company with Kiri Barfoot. We first started off with a prayer karakia lead by the Kaumatua he prayed for our new New Whare Hauroa. The kapa haka group displayed a special dance and singing everyone enjoyed listening to them, later on, we went near the medi cube to see Sarah Williams cut the ribbon we all clapped it got cut and were excited that the Whare Hauora Medi Cube was now open. This Medi Cube was for medical purposes so that all students that are sick can visit the Medi Cube and get checked by our Nures. l think it was a great idea to make this because it helps the students o there if they are sick.

Blog Commenting

This week l was commenting on Jack's blog from Paparoa Range's School. We all had a person to blog on and l blogged on Jack's l talked about in my burbl that he should add more about what he learned and how he learned how to do this. l enjoyed looking at his blog because this gave me ideas about new things.

Wheel Words

This week for reading Rotorua and Motuihe we going on a learning game called Wheel Words. In this learning game, we were finding words starting with the centre letter or you had to use the centre letter in your word. l could only use 3 hits in this learning game and after that l had to find my own words it was hard because l had to use the centre letter. When l do this again l think l could work on getting 6 or more words. 

Tech - Designing my Protect

had to Today for Tech we were making a DLO for our design so we could talk about the Tamaki community. l was picking my own images off a website called Scratch l first started off with my Backdrops which mean a background l first find a pitcher of a park and l had to say why l could use this image and how this relates to my story. The next photo l chose was a city because that shows the Tamaki area and this relates to my story because it shows a Tamaki area.  Then we did our sprites this means our people that we are going to be using for our story we had to write down why we should be using these people and how it would relate to our story. 

Cook Island language week

This week we have been learning about cook island language week. We were learning about the different kinds of things they celebrate in there culture and a lot of things like learning how to speak the language. l was working with Carl, Alex, Joshua, and Ofa for this task. We made a sidle   showing a Map, Sayings, Travel Information, Food, Flag, Prime Minister and dancing. l learned that the capital of the Cook Island is Avarua in our sidle show it shows the 15 stars of Cook Island flag so you can see for yourself the different kinds of Islands. For the saying, we added us speaking so you can get a better understanding of how to say the words The Traveling Information tells you what kind of Airlines you can go on how long it would take you to get there and top-rated tourist.

Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu

Today we were blog commenting on Karoro School. l commented on Noah's blog on Purerehua hi posted a sidle about  Purerehua and how to make them. This was great because l could tell him what l think about this blog and tell him somethings he has to work on.
