Nugget Point Lighthouse

This week one of the things that I needed to do with my group was research about Nugget Point Lighthouse me and my group had to add in the Height,Construction Materials,Where it would be Visible from,Type of lights, When it was Built and the power source.The lighthouse that we were given was the Nugget point lighthouse, which is located in Otago. The lighthouse is 148 years old. l was working with Alex,Ofa and Joshua W these were the people that were in my group. Alex was drawing some images of a lighthouse with people on it he draw New Zealand  and a boat with a person in it. We added some links and a photo of what Nugget Point Lighthouse.  

M&M Question Slide

This week for math the task was to work in our groups and create a DLO showing results from our M&M packets compared to how many Mars Co. The other things that we needed to do were write down some interesting facts about M&Ms, a brief history of the company and which colour we chose as our favourite. l chose the colour green because l thought that there was going to be more green M&M's inside of the packet but in our packet there were more yellow out of all  of the colours. For this task l worked with Alex,Ofa and Joshua W. 

Ballad poem - Inchcape rock

This week we have been looking at a Ballad poem. What a Balled poem is and tells a story we looked at the Inchacape rock there was a man called Sir Ralph he was the bad person in the poem because their was a bell ringing and ringing it was on a lnchcape float it was warning them that they were about to hit rocks. Put Sir Ralph bent over from the boat and he cut the bell from the Inchcape float. l added the meaning of what verse 9 means and added a photo of it.

Unicycle Riding

This week for reading we were learning about Unicycle Riding. For this we put a video of what it looks like to ride a unicycle l added a video of a man riding a Unicycle Riding on a rope this video was great because l would have never thought that people would have thought of making a Unicycle Riding. l learnt that Why you can't call a Unicycle a one wheeled bicycle is because Unicycle is one word and bicycle is another word. 

Making Connections

Today for reading l was doing Making Connections for this our reading group was reading a book called Ready Steady Snack this book is a fiction book. This book was about a boy called Josh he liked to eat Junk food he loved to run but he doesn't do training a lot. Because he spends to much time watching tv. His mum tells him he needs to stay fit and healthy so he can run fast but he doesn't listen so he gets sucked into the tv show which is called Ready Steady Snack. l enjoyed reading this book because l hate eating healthy l like eating junk food so this shows that l should eat healthy.

DigTech - Project - ltianl Planning

ln DigTech today we started the ltianl Planning for our DigTech  Project. This included completing the following tasks that we were making which was an animate on the tamki area. The purpose of the Context Brainstorm is to remind us what the tamki area is.The purpose  Contrapuntal Statement is to learn who to write  a statement about you creating and what the ages are. The Last one we did was the planning time frames for this we were using a time frame to help us with the times and the list of work we are going to be doing throw out the term.

Kiwi Can

Today we had Kiwi can our value was accountability. What a accountability is it talks about talking responsibility for our own actions and at PBS we talk about looking after our netbooks keeping them charged and staying focus when ever we are working. The challenges we played were copy me. First we had to get in to groups for this and Mr Matt had the cards so for each card there was a list of what you had to do. Joseph was our leader for the cards so he had to get a card from Mr Matt and find it on the board to see what we had to do some of them were we had to do the fornite dance and star jumps those were some of the things we did. The next challenge we did was Green light for this we got into pairs and one person was at the back of you so when ever Mrs Lily said green we had to switch places. and when ever she called out red light we had to jump on the other persons back the next one was yellow for that we had to sit on the persons leg.

Division Strategy

Today for maths we were leaning how to use a new strategy to help us work out maths question. l picked to do 85 divided by 5. This was hard to do put l learnt how to do it l used my 10 time table knowledge to work it out. l find it easy because l already knew how to do my 10 time table so it would be easy to do with 10 time table.

Showing Respect - Respect Care Award

This week l am posting one of my respect care awards. For this l had to take photos of me showing respect. l added a photo of me picking up rubbish throwing rubbish away helping around the house and being friendly to the people around me. This was awesome because l got to show myself showing respect in photos.

Life at PBS - Respect Care Award

Today l am posting one of my Respect Care awards. For this l was making a google drawing on what life is at PBS. First l added some photos of me when l was small at PBS and me and friends. l wrote something about what the juniors use and what the seniors use for work and l also wrote that the seniors are expected to have a chrome book and Juniors are using ipads. This was great to make because l could tell people what we use at our school and all the friends you could make.

Belonging to PBS - Respect Care award

Today l am posting one of my Respect Care awards. For this task l was explaining what Belonging to PBS is. l was talked about the sports we do what we learn about in kiwi can and what the year 7/8 do at tech. l was really happy how this came out because it looked great and my sentence made sense and full stops were in the right spots.

Facts about Geese

This week for reading we were making a google drawing on Facts about Geese. l labelled a geese and where the body parts were on the geese. l added 5 facts on a geese and l linked the lines to a photo which l added to my google drawing. First l was looking for 5 facts so l could added them onto my google drawing so l did that and l moved on to the labels of the geese. l find this interesting because l find out that a group of geese fly in a V shape.

Aretha Franklin Respect Song - Care award

Today l am blogging one of my Respect Care Awards. For this care award l was finding some information about Aretha Franklin. l was finding information about her Respect song in this DLO l was explaining who she is when she was born and when the music was released. l linked the Song to this DLO so people could listen to the song. l also added the Website on so people could find out where l got this information from. l really enjoyed doing this task because l learnt about her respect song and who she is and how to respect others.

Make or Break

Today in reading we were reading a book called make or bread. This book is about a boy called Josh he likes to play he's guitar but he doesn't practise that much because he likes watching TV to much. One day he was watching a show called Make or Break this was a TV talent content to find the best young musicians. We were doing our Text detective and Word detective. For the first one we answered some question from the book and the next one was finding some answers from the book and answering
them. l had fun reading this book because it shows how much you have to practise.

Parents interview day

This week we had our Parents interview. l went with my cousin Liana l took her around the class and showed her all of the work that l have been doing this year. For this we had to bring one of our family members to come in so we could show them our work for this year. l really enjoyed showing my blog post that l have been doing in class. l showed my cousin all of the subjects in school the one l really enjoyed showing her was my reading why l liked showing her this was because on this it showed how much l learnt about it and the facts l came up with. We also looked at my maths book and l showed her what we have been working on. 

Tech

This week for Tamaki collage Digi Tech. These photo show us working on our coding for this weeks coding  we were making it on this website called Scratch. Today we were playing a animation coding game to get more into coding and learn more about it for this we were creating some animation with coding it was hard at first put when we know what to do it was easier. l really enjoyed learning this and playing it This took a long time to do because there were a lot of place to click and do. 

Thankyou Letter - Care awards

Today l am blogging one of my care awards. This care award is on a thank you letter to one of my teachers l decided to write this letter to Mrs Kirkpatrick she is one of my teacher for this year. Why l decided to write this to her is because she helped me a lot with my reading because l needed a lot of help with reading. For this care award l added some photos of her and Mrs Anderson and wrote something she could read.

Tech reflection

This week was our first week for Tamaki collage Digi Tech. These Photos show our new teacher Ms Anderson and us on the computers. Today we were playing a game called Moana code for this we had to go on this website and code them so the moana boat could catch fish easily. l really enjoyed learning this and playing it. This took a long time to do because there were 19 levels to play. l made it up to 8 and it got harder and harder.
